Priceless contemporary art objects that arrived in our lab are courtesy of Nanke Schellmann, an art conservator and associate of Schellmann Art gallery in Munich!
We are talking about fine art objects in editions (multiples) by Joseph Beuys, a German artist, sculptor and art theorist, made of PVC. The objects are heavily degraded (you can even smell it 😉 ), which makes them an ideal material for our latest project – PVCare.
If the name of Joseph Beuys doesn’t mean anything to you, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with this unique character – after all, it was no coincidence that he was portrayed by Andy Warhol.
With such a rapidly progressing degradation, documentation of the condition of the sample is extremely important! On the photo: one of the objects donated by Nanke Schellmann
