What a week! Surrounded by the Bernese Alps, the Swiss Les Diablerets was this weekend not only a stop on the Tour de France, but more importantly, hosted the Gordon Research Conference (GRC): Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research, preceded by the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) for PhD students and young research scientists.
During the GRS our colleague Katarzyna Poznańska gave a presentation on “Mechanical Properties of Tempera Paints”.
At GRC, Łukasz Bratasz delivered the requested lecture entitled “Remote Access to Quantitative Risk Assessment for Heritage Assets from a Digital Decision Support Platform” and Katarzyna Poznańska and Magdalena Soboń presented posters.
The presented, previously unpublished research is part of the NAWA, GRIEG and Preludium 19 projects.
The busy schedule of lectures, poster sessions and equally important breaks for meals and networking barely allowed for the exploration of countless walking routes, but we managed to get lost for a few moments, as can be seen in the attached photos.
We come back with heads full of thoughts and concepts and new contacts in our address books!
GRC is also an opportunity to meet friends from overseas! In the photo: Łukasz Bratasz with Catherine H. Stephens from MoMA
