We are happy to welcome a new team member: Lindsay Oakley from Northwestern University

Current members of The Cultural Heritage Group

We are pleased to announce that our team is growing! Our new colleague, Lindsay Oakley comes to us from Northwestern Univeristy near Chicago and will enrich The Cultural Heritage Research group with her knowledge of chemical processes relevant to museum collections.  Lindsay obtained her PhD in Materials Science in 2017 where she developed a computational kinetic model to understand curing and aging processes in oil-based paints. As a Research Assistant, she will work with the group towards building a comprehensive mechanical and numerical model of historical, aged paint layers. “I am excited to begin the challenge of unravelling the complex connections between chemical and mechanical properties with such an excellent team”, says Lindsay. We wish her a lot of success in her research! Her employment was possible thanks to CRAQUELURE project funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
