Promoting microscopic craquelure scans at a conference of leading British institutions

A large part of the conference is again held in a stationary form, but the online form, additionally arranged in a fun and accessible computer game convention, was a perfect fit for the conference entitled Computational approaches for technical imaging in cultural heritage.

The conference was part of the ARTICT project | Art Through the ICT Lens: Big Data Processing Tools to Support the Technical Study, Preservation and Conservation of Old Master Paintings carried out by a number of British institutions – National Gallery, University College London and Imperial College London.

Our colleague, Dr. Sergii Antropov, promoted the group by presenting a poster ‘Application of scanning microscopy for craquelure analysis‘ explaining how we obtain microscopic scans of crack patterns that we share in our virtual gallery and the purpose of such research. The research is part of the CRAQUELURE project financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, contract number 2019/34/H/HS2/00581.
