Dr Lindsay Oakley

Our colleague Dr. Lindsay Oakley, leaves our group after a year of work to take up a prestigious position of the Director of Heritage Science and Research Testing in National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

NARA is an independent agency of the United States government, which main mission is the preservation and documentation of government and historical records. NARA is also responsible for increasing public access to those documents which make up the National Archive. Lindsay will be coordinating the work of both conservators and scientists, whose research field is the cultural heritage. She will also build a network of professional contact with other units with a similar mission.

Lindsay joined us thanks to the NAWA program. She specializes in quantum chemical calculations for the purpose of cultural heritage preservation. In our group, Lindsay was mainly involved in the GRIEG project, in which she analyzed the chemical processes related to paint aging. Her professionalism and research passion resulted in her personal development, which was noticed by future employers.

We are immensely proud of such an important step in her career. We wish her lots of success and hope that our paths will cross again in the near future!

We managed to say goodbye to Lindsay before the pandemic driven restrictions returned!
