We are returning to the rich in cultural heritage West of Poland

Strategic meetings during which we plan, discuss and summarize the ongoing projects in the scenery of important and often unknown monuments are the tradition of our group.

Last year, we went to Lower Silesia to admire the craftsmanship of baroque artists: Michael Willman and Ignacio Provisore. This time we were orbiting on the border of three voievodeships: Lower Silesian, Greater Poland and Łódź, visiting not very popular but worth seeing places.

The leitmotif was the sacred painting of the Rococo artist-Bernardine, Walenty Żebrowski. The painter’s original style was manifested in the fact that he introduced illusionist elements and landscape motifs into his works. We admired Żebrowski’s craftsmanship on the walls and vaults of the Bernardine church in Warta and in the post-Bernardine monastery complex in Kalisz.

We spent the night at the Radziwiłł Hunting Palace in Antonin, which is an architectural gem designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The palace was eagerly visited by Fryderyk Chopin, and the sounds of his compositions accompanied us throughout the evening.

We ended the journey with a visit to Oleśnica, where the developing company Custom Cube designs and manufactures museum display cases for the largest partners in Poland, and soon also abroad. We were invited to peek at the work of designers and craftsmen, and the subsequent discussion was full of mutual questions and sharing the arcana of science and business related to cultural heritage.

We are already looking forward to next year’s trip!
