Chemical Analysis in the Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects XXV

Have you ever wondered what happens when historical glass is exposed to fluctuating RH environments?

Our project on ‘Crizzling of Historical Glass’ is trying to answer this question by the use of Acoustic Emission measurements on artificially aged replicas of historical glass during RH cycles.

This week, doctoral student Nefeli Avgerou had the chance to present the latest results regarding this research at the annual conference Chemical Analysis in the Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects XXV, which took place in Warsaw on 1-2 December 2025.

The presented research is part of the European GoGreen project.
